The MAIOR School is the training course dedicated to public transportation professionals who want to learn more about the advanced features of the MAIOR Suite.
Through a mix of theory, hands-on exercises and networking, each participant will have the opportunity to improve their skills and engage with industry peers. The courses are reserved for MAIOR customers and offer an interactive training experience designed to meet the challenges of Public Transport.
WHAT TO EXPECT
How the classes are conducted
Each course is held in-person at MAIOR’s Florence headquarters (Via Atto Vannucci 7, 50134 Florence) and lasts one day, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The day includes theoretical sessions, practical simulations, moments of exchange among participants and a light lunch. At the end, each participant will receive a certificate of participation.
MAIOR School: 2025 edition
Course 1
Optimization Algorithms for Workforce Scheduling
9 April 2025
This course is designed for all operators who want to deepen their skills in managing and optimizing staff shifts with MAIOR Suite. Advanced algorithms will be explored to optimize human resources in urban, suburban and mixed scenarios, considering regulatory and operational efficiency constraints.

Key topics: driving shifts, regulations, constraints, types, tasks, costs, and efficiency.
Course 2
Electric Fleets Operations Planning and Management
14 May 2025
This course focuses on the management and optimization of full-electric and mixed fleets using the MAIOR Suite, providing advanced tools for analyzing and comparing different operational scenarios. Crucial topics such as battery range, battery degradation, various charging types (including overnight and pantone modes) and the impact of these factors on service efficiency and operations will be explored in detail.
Tutor:
Key topics: vehicle scheduling, constraints, vehicle types, State of Charge (SOC), charging types, and battery degradation.
Course 3
Scenarios for Service Delivery and Strategic Planning
12 November 2025
This appointment is dedicated to the analysis and simulation of scenarios, both for service production and strategic planning, including competitions. Best practices and MAIOR Suite tools will be addressed to evaluate different service configurations and their impact on service planning and scheduling.

Key topics: scenarios, network, schedules, duties, benchmarks, KPI, analysis, import/export, GTFS, NetEx.
