Run Time Analysis
The Run Time Analysis module uses innovative statistical analysis of operators driving times imported from other systems (like automatic vehicle location systems), to determine optimized running times and time bands throughout the day.
With these optimized running times, transit agencies and operators can improve service planning and improve on-time performance.
Run Time Optimization Algorithm
The Run Time Analysis software solution is enhanced by the MAIOR Transit Scheduling Suite’s embedded optimization algorithm that optimizes the difference between the scheduled and actual running times. This is achieved by creating the best running time average but also by setting the width of the time bands to group the running times.
The Run Time Analysis algorithm does not simply calculate the running times as a simple average of the actual. It is possible to set a wide range of parameters to calibrate the algorithm’s behavior. Some examples include:
-The maximum number of time bands that are to be created
-The time scale of the bands and the time scale precision of running times
-Minimum and maximum values
-Weight of delays
Each time band has its own optimization criteria, and a time band can be excluded from the optimization process.
